1. Our Identity 

Pahadia Muslim Welfare Trust is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to the socio-economic and educational advancement of the Pahadia Muslim community in West Bengal.

Recognized officially under the OBC-B (Other Backward Classes - Category B) framework of the Government of West Bengal, our community possesses a distinct historical and cultural identity. The Trust serves as a legal, structured platform to voice the community's needs, preserve our heritage, and ensure that every eligible individual can seamlessly access state and central welfare benefits.

2. Mission & Vision 

Our Mission: To bridge the gap between government welfare schemes and the grassroots Pahadia Muslim population through digital literacy, administrative guidance, and direct community support.

We focus our efforts on three core pillars: 

• 🎓 Educational Empowerment Maximizing student enrollment in state scholarship portals (such as Aikyashree, Medhashree, and Oasis) to minimize school dropout rates and promote higher education.

• 📝 Administrative Facilitation Assisting families in securing digital OBC-B certificates, correcting existing paperwork, and navigating error-free official documentation.

• 💼 Livelihood Upliftment Connecting community youth with government-backed skill development programs, minority term loans, and employment resources to foster financial independence.

3. Trust History

For generations, the Pahadia Muslim community in West Bengal faced significant challenges due to geographical isolation, low literacy rates, and a systemic lack of awareness regarding statutory rights. While the state government extended affirmative action policies via the OBC framework, complex online application systems and documentation barriers left many deserving families excluded from the mainstream development loop.

To solve this problem, a group of dedicated community leaders, educators, and social workers came together. The Pahadia Muslim Welfare Trust was established to transform the community from passive onlookers into active, informed beneficiaries of West Bengal's development schemes.

What began as a small, informal volunteer helpdesk has now grown into a structured trust, establishing localized assistance centers to guide our people through paperwork, applications, and legal rights at every single step.
